FAQs About Therapy Services

About Our Therapy Services

1. What types of therapy do you offer?
I provide individual therapy and couples therapy for clients in Maryland (MD), Virginia (VA), New Jersey (NJ), and New York (NY). My approach helps you move from emotional overwhelm and anxiety toward clarity, self-trust, and inner peace. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed techniques, nervous system regulation, and communication skill-building so you can heal patterns — not just symptoms.

2. What are “Intensive sessions,” and how are they different from regular therapy sessions?
A Standard session lasts 50 minutes and provides steady, consistent progress.
An Intensive session is a 90min–3hour deep-dive that helps you work through a specific emotional block, trauma pattern, or relationship issue in one focused setting. Many clients choose intensive sessions when they feel stuck, want clarity fast, or need immediate resolution in a safe, guided space.

3. Which states do you serve?
I’m licensed to offer online therapy in MD, VA, NJ, and NY. All sessions are conducted virtually through a secure telehealth platform, allowing you to access therapy from the comfort of your home while receiving the same high level of care and confidentiality.

4. What makes your therapy approach unique?
My therapy combines emotional clarity work, trauma-informed CBT, and communication transformation. Rather than focusing only on surface-level coping, I help you release emotional reactivity, regulate your nervous system, and rebuild inner safety and trust. You’ll gain clear strategies and emotional understanding to apply between sessions.

Working Together

5. What happens during the first therapy session?
Your first session is about understanding your story — what’s been happening, what you’ve tried, and what you want to change. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that gives you direction, emotional grounding, and clear goals for your healing journey.

6. How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?

  • Standard sessions: 50 minutes

  • Intensive sessions: 90–120 minutes and Couples Intensive sessions: 3hour sessions and 12hour sessions

  • Most clients begin with weekly therapy to build momentum, then move to biweekly or monthly sessions as they progress.

7. Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
Sessions are virtual (online therapy) and available to clients in MD, VA, NJ, and NY. Virtual therapy allows for privacy, flexibility, and the ability to continue your sessions even when life gets busy. However, for our 2-day Couples Intensive, it is an In-person service.

8. Do you accept insurance?

Yes, even though I am in-network with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS), BlueCross BlueShield affiliates, United Healthcare, I also have self-pay options for clients that do not want to utilize insurance.

9. How do I pay for therapy sessions?

All payments are made securely online at the time of booking using a credit or debit card. You’ll receive your session link and confirmation once your appointment is scheduled.

Individual Therapy

10. What issues do you help with in individual therapy?
Individual therapy is a safe space to explore what’s keeping you emotionally stuck or overwhelmed. I work with clients struggling with:

  • Anxiety, overthinking, or burnout

  • Emotional reactivity or shutdown

  • People-pleasing and boundary challenges

  • Low self-trust or loss of identity

  • Healing after emotional or relational trauma

  • Repeating painful patterns in relationships

11. What can I expect to gain from therapy?
You can expect to gain:

  • Clarity: Understanding what you feel and why

  • Regulation: Tools to calm your nervous system and think clearly

  • Confidence: Rebuilding self-trust and emotional resilience

  • Growth: Healthier communication, boundaries, and self-awareness
My goal is to help you feel grounded, emotionally safe, and clear about your next steps.

Couples Therapy

12. What kinds of couples do you work with?
I work with couples who want to rebuild emotional safety, restore trust, and reconnect — whether you’re dating, engaged, or married. Many couples come to me feeling unheard, emotionally distant, or stuck in repeating conflicts.

13. What happens in couples therapy?
You’ll learn how to identify the emotional patterns driving disconnection, communicate with clarity and respect, and regulate emotions during conflict. I help both partners understand each other’s emotional needs so communication becomes safe again — not triggering or defensive.

14. What if my partner isn’t ready for therapy?
That’s okay. I can work with one partner first to help you build clarity, confidence, and new tools for communication. Often, when one partner starts doing the work, the other becomes more open to joining the process.

Booking & Results

15. How do I book a therapy session?
You can book your session directly through my [Online scheduling page]. Once you select your service (individual, couples, or extensive session), you’ll receive secure intake forms, payment options, and your telehealth link.

16. Do you offer consultations before starting therapy?
Yes — I offer a brief consultation so we can see if we’re a good fit. It’s a chance to share what you’re experiencing, ask questions, and get a feel for how I work.

17. How long does it take to see results from therapy?
Many clients begin noticing shifts in the first few sessions — such as calmer reactions, clearer thinking, or improved communication. Long-term changes develop with consistency, practice, and applying tools between sessions. Healing is a process, but it’s absolutely possible with the right support.

18. Will I have “homework” or exercises between sessions?
Sometimes. I may suggest short journaling prompts, nervous system exercises, or communication tools to help you integrate what we discuss. These are never overwhelming — they’re designed to keep your progress moving between sessions.

Next Steps

19. How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?
If you’re ready to stop surviving on emotional autopilot and start living with clarity, confidence, and connection — this approach will fit you well. You don’t need to have everything figured out; you just need to be willing to start.

20. What’s the first step?
Book your First session or Schedule a Consultation. Healing begins when you decide to do something different — and you don’t have to do it alone.
